Flop decision
«
on:
December 01, 2013, 11:58:28 PM »
Table is 4 handed, 10nl on Sky.
I have K9 of hearts UTG,
, £17.47 stack.
I raise to 30p, Button min raises to 50p, SB folds, BB calls, I call the extra 20p. He has £8.52
Flop comes down
, bb checks, I check and Button bets 3/4 pot 0.90p he has £7.62 behind.
BB folds.
What would you do here?
I don't like just raising cause of the size of his stack, I decided just to set him all in. Opponent calls.
Is it 2 much setting him all in, what line would you take here on the flop?

I think you should lead here. As played make it £2.40-2.70. Now you have two chances to win the pot, either on the flop or by jamming any turn card. If he jams over the flop bet that's fine as we have a big draw and are fine with getting it in.

Thanks for the responses, just made a post but then i had been signed out lol
I don't like the shove here, i think it's not the best play. I think opponents range, the way it's played, they have an over pair to the board, JAcks or Queens, possibly Kings, maybe aces. The min raise, made me think it was Jacks or Queens. It could be AQ, AK, i didn't have any great reads on opponent, but felt they would check AK, AQ here on the button to see a free card.
I don't like calling here OOP, and couldn't have asked for a much better flop with K9 suited.
But shoving kind of turns my hand face up, i'm not likely to play a set this way.
I definatly think raising, shoving any turn is the way to go.
The only thing with this is, i don't like shoving when my equity has reduced if i blank the turn.
Is this play profitable in as the opponent can fold here often enough to justify it (if we blank) and atleast if we are called we still have outs?

Just out of interest why would we lead out, i take it you mean be the first to bet the flop?
I don't ever donk bet really, normally i'll just check raise.

We have called with K9hh if we intend sometimes to donk lead sets (which i would sometimes) we also want to do it with draws top pair hands etc to be balanced.
Personally i would never rule out a move ever like saying i never donk lead always check raise.. why? why not mix it up more.

I like donk betting in the right situation not saying this 100% is but we have massive equity in this hand, his stack size makes it hard to be honest but think this is the best play at 10nl a lot of players hate letting go of hands so with his stack size he my even shove AQ/AK here which were not a dog to right? and when he does have JJ+ we still have loads of equity?

At NL10 where the players take less in flow lines I like a really small donk lead with the intention of jamming over a raise, can get them to do something disastrous like r/f an overpair and may leave us a decent stack size to check jam the turn, and give us the initiative if we are called and get there on the turn

this opponent has a fine stack size to raise against, cant see villain frequently 3 barreling the lot when your outs appear unless he specifically has AXhearts, i'm going for a raise to £2.50 and then going with it on the turn, we have set up a pot size bet left.
this way we can get villain folding on a shed load of turns if he has one pair type hands, i would expect it going in on the flop Vs his overpairs and sets, but thats fine cus our outs are clean.
worst scenario is him having AQ,AJ,AThh when you shove flop here. raise flop then shoving turn when no heart drops, you can get 2/3 hands to fold enough which would be the nuts situation!
