Hoping some of the clever people here can point me in the direction of a good resource for teaching myself (quickly!) how to use excel effectively for producing statistical reports (and creating survey forms etc that look like attractive documents rather than bog-standard spreadsheets). My current level of proficiency pretty much starts and ends with being able to stick in numbers and perform very basic operations.

Any user-friendly online resources about, or would I be better off just shelling out for a good book that I can refer to as I go along?

the Dummies Guide books are always good - I tended to teach myself the bits of Microsoft Office as and when I needed them, but I think they're a good resource for trying to get a grip of the whole thing from a bit closer to scratch Smiley

As an aside, you can use Google docs to create some very cool survey forms, and the data from the survey drops straight into a spreadsheet.  Have a google for some examples that you can then copy and tailor to your needs.
