The Best Sweat has to be the 49ers bet from Keith, everything about it from the initial post - probably one of the best "heart and head posts" ever, to the end result - was a great sweat all the way through with the Ebs and Flows of not getting top spot etc etc

The Doobs Award - whoever started fred on the route to being a "nitty arber", 2nd to Fav money back free bet specifically but other types.   God it stops me dipping in as much - don't mind when its a stand out, one off offer - but got to the point this was boring the pants off me....we've got it, we know when to place bets, we know its mathematically sound....is that really what fred is about.  Fred is about the great thought through bets, narratives, judgement and fun banzais with a case...not how to be a nitty arber - post education of many Wink

Hi Shaun,

I think that's a little unfair, & unbalanced, but as this was intended as a fun thread, I'll reply to it on Fred proper.

Deffo agree with the enboldened part, what fun that was!

Think it is a top three one for me, along with maybe Barnet, & MvG.

Always thought that Nakor knew his stuff, good man.

The maths award should be that horse race where we bet two thirds of the field getting the ew down to 6th I think, first race of something, Cheltenham maybe. Helped that we oioi-ed in one of the long-priced ones we'd backed.

Defo needs to be a tiddlearse award for the best bet that has been insulted with a 5-year-old child's pocket money put on it. Tonight's 14/1 winner with £1.79 on it is one of the nominees

That was the Supreme Novices Hurdle.

You should have seen me that afternoon, trying to hide from my computer screen, with Lord Grumpy & Dubai shouting at me, MAX MAX MAX, YOU HAVE TO BET THESE.

Jeez, I did not like that, think we staked about £600 bloody quid on one race, & I was proper bricking it.

Worked out OK though, phew. Great, great, afternoon & memory. Chelters 2014 is only 3 months away, too, groan.....

Tiddlearse award, £1.79 @ 14/1? Nah, not even close.

We had £0.63 EW with Paddy Power, & £0.12 WIN (TWELVE PENCE) with Bet365 on that Cycliist @ 150/1. We got over £130 back!

What about the ironside award?

Basically, someone who had £1.22 on a 1.8 shot, and then wishes they had greened out to guarantee a 12p profit Wink

The Kinboshi rubdown award

When Kin suggested backing against Wigan in the rugby league think it was a handicap bet against hull. The bet lost (Wigan covered but lost the game I think), kin was in the thread banging about what a brilliant display it was by the Wigan youngsters and then revealed he hadn't backed his own tip!

Camel was not happy, had me in stitches!

And he's never been seen near Fred since!

I don't think he realised the enormity of his faux paus.

Camel had one of his Grade A rants, always a delight to read.

Thanks for reminding me.

I really wasn't happy, I virtually never bet on Rugby League because I know how team news dependent it is and as I don't follow the sport at all.

This looked like a great spot, when a fan was suggesting betting on his team to lose.

Sent me on tilt bringing it up.

This was the best moment of the whole sweat imo
