I can't see you did much wrong here, you just got quartered by the ultimate cooler & your man backed into nut nut.

You ask for a "line check" on the river, but I don't see it makes any meaningful difference whether you bet-call, or check-call. You are never folding, so it's almost the same thing. We don't play for chops, we play for scoops, but with so much in the pot, we never ever fold the river here even though our high is not beating anything. He could easily have the same low as you, & no high.

Completely unrelated, but how many runners do these things typically get on 'Stars?

Was going to reply earlier, but it is just borderline 50p.  You can't ever assume he only has A3 and the flush.  You have to bet, as more often he has A3 and a worse high.  As Tikay said, we can't ever fold if he bets, so we only save a tiny amount if we check call anyway.   So you are balancing a small additional loss if you bet when he has better vs a big loss if you don't bet and he has worse.

$50 one gets about 60, $100 one is really struggling.  There was tiny overlay last couple of times I played.

Doobs explained it better than I did, but exactly the same thoughts. At best, we save a few hundred chips by check-calling. All standard stuff, I'd say.

Only 60 runners for the $50, & less for the $100?

That's pretty sad to hear. I'm interested in playing more PLO8, & hoped the field sizes would be bigger. Can't recall the last time I played on 'Stars - maybe 8 years ago.

There were 27 runners last night in the 100, 28 the night before.   It is guaranteed at 3k.  It used to get 100 at one time.  They have a $25 hyper NLO8 that gets over 100.  Really sad, some players join late and just shove nearly every hand.

27?

Ugh.

Sign of the times I suppose. I can't even grasp the need for Rush, or Zoom, can't quite see where the pleasure is derived.

NL08 ticks no boxes for me, none at all.

i was thinkin its 3 way on the river maybe should i check/raise because there's more of a possibility to get a call from da_judge when COUGAR will bet on the river and i'm effectively just betting the lo' 3 ways?

this was an $11r   $1k gtd  got 72 players. early hours start time, around 2-3am

The best PLO8 comp online is probably the full tilt 109. Its 5k guarantee with a good structure. Better than the stars one for sure. Hopefully when stars schedule changes they will be making a bigger Omania. O8 should get the  55 or 109. (Actually the best plo8 comp is the 55 saturday 6max on stars. Its got the best field EVER. Probably the softest 55 on stars.)

Hand is played fine. Dislike preflop but its stylistic. If we had just one 3 high suit I'd prefer a limp, but in general we want to be opening imo.

River is the perfect betsize, it allows us to get two calls. Which is pretty much ideal. I'd also argue its fairly criminal not to bet in this situation. People simply aren't very good. We miss out on a tremendous amount of value if we check, even if it is to check/raise. We've missed the nfd, and people who might just have the low will check when they would have called the bet.
