Afraid we're no good. KK < J8 on 2x7x8x.. Running 9 10 ggs us Sad

Sorry guys! Feel I played really poorly in the opening few levels and probably levelled myself once or twice. Will do a full (albeit fairly short) report when I get home.

Review:

Ok so the main actually started pretty well and we were up to 35k from a 30k starting stack in next to no time.

Loss #1

The first hand we lost a fair bit of our stack on was when CO opened (as he had previous 3 orbits) @ bb 100 to 300. We peel our BB with   .   flop. Check to CO who bets 450 (as he had the previous orbits). We Raise to 1200 he peels. Turn   we just check and give up, he checks behind... hmm... River   we bet 3500 (just over pot) he snap flicks it in with K 10 red.

Loss #2

The second hand we lose some chips is; UTG+1 opens to 400 @ bb 150. We call the HJ with   , BTN peels, BB completes.   two spades. UTG+1 bets 650. We Call. Rest fold. Turn  . UTG+1 checks, we bet 1600, he calls. River  . He checks we bet 2650 (a little thin maybe but live players like to snap put us on J10 / bricked spades and hero call from what I know), he calls and shows KK.

Loss #3

The third hand we lose chips is a strange one. UTG+1 (same as previous hand) opens to 400 @ bb 150. (I know this is the 2nd history in a row hes opened however hes not been opening too much as seems fairly tight)0. We peel   (which could be a 3bet vs some but not this guy), BTN (Matt Frankland I think) peels, BB completes.   two spades Flop. UTG+1 checks. We bet 900. BTN (MF) peels. Rest fold. Turn   . We bet 1850, BTN calls. River  . We BET (I will give my thought process at end of the hand) 2250, BTN calls and shows   .

River Bet Reasoning

So Matt F had peeled both my Flop and turn bets on   two spades  . After peeling an open pre. It's pretty fair to say that I have a pretty strong range when betting this flop and continuing turn 4 way.

I didn't think there was any combos of flushes which peels pre (other than   /   / Nut flush draws - which isn't possible due to the   river) which get to a river - both of which raise some previous street at some point a fair % of the time. I also don't think he can have ANY 2 pair combos (other than K10 - which again raises flop / turn a really high %) - as hands e.g. A10 don't get to a river a high % when I bet / bet 4 way due to me having a super strong range. He has 0 QJ hands as these 100% fold turn - baring in mind I have 15k to start the hand not a 30k SS (if he's good - which from what I know of MF he is). So I feel hes pretty capped to: KQ (which we chop with) / KJ+ K9 (we beat) /   + (which a large % raise some previous street) and therefore this river bet was designed to get him to fold chops / Hero with worse kings rarely / act as a 'blocker'. The only downside is when he turns Kx   into a bluff - that sucks. At the time I was like WTF call / call with a 6 high flush draw? But then I realise he turned a gutshot to the nuts which I didn't see at the time!

P.S. He would 3bet AK 100% based on how he was playing / the opened - although tight wasn't super nitty. Not 3betting would be a big mistake.

Other hands:

Raise / gave up with 99 / 88 / A10dd / AJhh when we flopped the nut worst boards.

We then chipped back up to 13k from 4k without showdown - lost 3k and finally the exit hand:

Exit hand:

We open     UTG to 500 (playing just under 10k total). UTG +1 peels, 3 more peels (including SB and BB who make it up). 5 way to a flop of  two spades . We decide to check (expecting someone to bet this board a lot - and us to have the best hand A LOT). UTG+1 obliges with a bet of 2k. Folds to us, we pile our remaining chips and he calls with   (yes UTG+1 peeled an UTG open with J8o and bet called). Board runs out  two spades ....   ....   ... J8o gets there and we are GG'd.

Sorry to investors - It just didn't go right for us at all.
