I wandered up to the middle tier to see Alex Goulder had 600,000

I took a double check. Yes 600,000. Possible chip leader

I asked him how.

He was shy

He was embarrassed

Eventually I bullied it out of him "straight versus lower straight"

I winkled the details out like a dentist extracting a particularly difficult wisdom tooth.

Ben Winsor raised UTG+1 and Alex 3 bet 8-9

Winsor called

it came 5-6-7

Only Alex

check, bet Alex, call

A on the turn

check, bet Alex, call

4 on the river

check, shove Alex, call all in with 3-3

John Kabbaj is up to 600,000 after winning a big flip A-K v JJ all in pre

His opponent "Put me down as Anonymous please. I took the day off work and my boss doesn't know it was to play poker"

I've been here before, Anon is not Anon but wants to be Anon and on and on it goes.

Three more exits as we crawl, understandably, towards the bubble

87    Osman Mustanoglu
88    James Rann
89    Harprit Singh Gurnam

86 left, 81 paid

In ten minutes time there is the final break of the night, before the last level

blinds then go 3-6k and average is 216,000

Chip leaders still in the region of 600,000 there isn;t any sign yet of the 1m+ type stacks that might dominate a bubble period with their aggression

--

Walking around I note that pleno1 who was getting a bit short is now comfortable enough with 250,000 on the same table as Ben Martin who has 500,000 and Ballymore Chris

--

I've been waiting for Liam Batey's breakthrough result for a while (not as much as he has been waiting for it) and he has been chipped up all day and still is, in the urbane presence of Marcel Luske who has an average stack and is two to his left

---

Carlo Citrone has recovered well and is on one of the interesing tables with Dorey, Gryko, Tim Chung, Sam Bayliss and Alex Spencer providing a contrast in styles. If I had the time I would like to do a round here. Very cerebral table indeed, lots of thought every hand,

---

Martins Adeniya was moved two to Barney Boatman's left, sandwiched between him and Albert Sapiano. Very understated table presence for Martins but not looking likely to make a mistake

Alex Goulder ‏@cambridgealex 20m

Up to 750k, approaching the bubble. My image seems to have taken a battering but so long as I make some hands I'll be alright! #ukpc
