If im 3b'n im calling. Although it might depend on who is left in the field and how much chips they have.

In hindsight the 3b is pretty awful from me (it should go to the streets) but agree this ^ should be the case!

We were 2/15 at the time. There was only one other reg left. I think 'in a vaccum' if we 3b we should call, however in this specific situation should this be an edge pass? (This was the question I meant to ask at the time but was still in game) - i.e. should we preserve a 75bb stack / pass what should be a decent edge equity wise due to ICM / having what should be a significant 'skill / experience' edge over the field?

^ This is what I meant to ask in OP!

Definitely definitely calling. Bit like when a reg jams 16bb UTG they often have 55-99 and always induce AK AA etc

snapping this clown nh

Chris, as you saying because of the villain's big shove or because of the notes hero has on him and therefore the history?  I was an insta fold but obviously I am wrong?

Steve

i have played with villain a lot myself and can confirm the guy is a very spewy reg and not one to back down in preflop wars. this guy is 4bet inducing with almost everything that dominates us. he will sometimes rip hands like KQ/QJ which unfortunately have a lot of equity but the overlay on the pot is now quite substantial.

there are a couple other positives here like we are left with 30bb even if we lose this pot now, the power we can wield with a monster stack, the psychological edge we might hold over the others once they see us make a big 3b call here.

if you are uncomfortable calling the shove then i think the original 3 bet is pretty bad, especially vs this opponent.

You prefer 3betting here over peeling?

Our peeling range is pretty narrow so maybe it's better to mostly 3bet/fold in this spot.

vs less aggro players sure. picked a really bad reg to 3bet/fold to here tho imo
