Playing a £50 satty to GPS, 51 entries with 5 seats (6th got £350)
510,000 chips in play so ave to get min £350 would be 85k or so.
No HUD so a bit vague

Blinds 500/1000/100 18 left I think
UTG (40k) 2000
Co (14k)   2000
Hero btn (40k) JJ

Call/fold/raise?

I'm thinking that I'm going quite nicely in the top 4 ATM but have a very nice hand. Folding to weak surely but hey low risk and keep chipping up in easier spots. Raise, sure but what if UTG 4bets and I lose 6500 chips not seeing a flop. (I was gonna raise/fold to UTG but call the shorter stack). I call, see a good flop hopefully and lose 2k to an ace high flop.
Blinds fold
Flop 866dd pot 8400
UTG bets 2000, CO folds I call wanting to keep pot small and get to showdown
Turn two spades UTG bets 6500 and I see my stack getting ever smaller if I lose, however I think I'm only losing to QQ/KK/AA and I'm beating 99/TT/A8/AK/AQ etc. 4secs to spare I call
River Two Diamonds and he checks and in a nanosecond I check behind beating 55

Does anyone fold pre? Raise and poss race? Do we need to race?
Views please?

Heya,

I think preflop your action should be dictated by UTG and CO's image. What is UTG's opening range? is he likely to 4B you light? will he likely flat a 3B with marginal hands and medium pairs?

What about CO, what hands is he likely flatting, is he they type to back-raise if he gets a chance? Will he likely over-call a 3B?

I viewed the UTG player as more solid and the CO as loose. I didn't want to 3bet/fold to UTG but was more willing to call the CO via perceived image and stack size.
So I chose to keep the pot small by calling but I was still uncomfortable. Just wanting to preserve chips and take the low risk route.

If the other stack was deeper I would just flat but with the caller so short (and this being live we can't say that his range is strong as a result) I would make it 5k. UTG likely won't want to get in 40bb in with worse than your hand - perhaps just AK, and even that he might just flat. If you make it 5k, even though he's getting a good price, he will have a legitimate worry that CO will re-open the action and likely won't get involved without a legitimate hand.

So yeah 5k/fold to utg/call CO. If UTG calls and CO jams then I shrug and jam and hope UTG isn't slowplaying.
