So, the good lady visited said house for a viewing yesterday, and managed to chat with me about it after work (which is a semi miracle as the wifi inside the oil rig accomodation is shockingly bad)

She likes the place, but had used her head instaid of  her heart and due to the condition of of, decided the most we will offer is slightly below the amount we have agreed we can pay and what the bank has agreed to lend us. Her reasoning being that the house does need some modernising, and some decorating doing to it (expected the decorating) and also it smells of cats???!!!!! baring in mind we have a distinctly stenchful family member ourselves, Monty the English Springer Spaniel, i'm personally not that bothered as fresh paint, cleaned carpets etc will sort that out before our rather whiffy pooch puts his own reek on things.

Anyway, we are now awaiting to see if the estate agents get back to us with news, and whether its good or bad.

If we dont get this one, we are just going to continue saving (and hopefully winning some poker monies again) and keep our eyes open for another one, worst case is that we will have to wait 10 months or so, but by then we'll have had the big paydays that happen in the final 3rd of my contractual year, and our deposit fund will have risen from 10 to around 25k or so, along with 3 pay rises will also mean our market options will have grown too.

Just from the west side of Doncaster to the north east side of Doncaster, maybe 10 miles at the most

but, and here's the big but, out of a rented 3 bed terraced house with no off street parking, to a nice 4 bed detached house with garage and extra off street parking

and to top it all off, the eldest is about to go to university, which means we'll have a study in his room, with a very uncomfortable bed in it that he will hopefully not want to come back and live in when he finishes his degree

Beware the smell of cat pee.

I look after the renting of my daughter's house and had a tenant leave it with that stench.

Cleaning the carpets wasn't enough. We tried all the suggestions thrown up by google searches and a few more that came from well-meaning friends.
Eventually we had to lift the carpets, scrub the floorboards, lay down some bicarb and fit new carpets.

80% of our stuff is here, 2-3 more trips in the dodgiest luton van ive ever hired and we will be 100%
