can anyone recommend a hotel near the venue please
not been to Barcelona before,travelling alone...not to expensive

never been but heard its not safe to walk about with money on you so try and get somewhere close to casino

I've stayed at this place 3 times or so: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g187497-d518349-Reviews-Silken_Diagonal_Barcelona-Barcelona_Catalonia.html Really nice but I am sure you can go a lot cheaper.

It's about 6 euros to the casino and is also situated pretty centrally. If you're alone then get cabs everywhere. It's not a city of violent crime but I almost don't know anybody that doesn't have a story about someone being mugged/pick pocketed
