local MTT, 20+20 at leeds

i'm cut off, sat on a pleasant table, lots of decent banter, no one being a pro and not talking

blinds 200-400,50 ante and i'm in cut off with about 20k infront of me and dealt AA, folded round to me and my initial plan was to limp, as th chap t my right liked to raise IP with ATC.

i pick up my limping chips, and he starts to muck his hand, i look at him and ask " are you really mucking?"

he replies "yes"

so i say "best i raise this one then", and put in a raise to 1200

SB makes it 3k to go, then the BB reraises to 9k

at this point the dealer , who has been joining in the banter and still working the table correctly says" look what youve started"

internally i'm jumping all over the table, externally i look in pain, count my chips vs the raise, and reluctantly push my stack in

the BB sighs, counts, and makes the call with QQ

board runs J high and i get a decent pot

at this point he mutters something along the lines of "in the games i'm used to playing thats classed as an angle shoot" mutter mutter etc

but to me, i was playing the players, with a distinct plan to limp/raise when the button raised, but as the button was obviously folding, OR leading me into thinking he was folding (which would also have been nice), and i simply implied that i was raising in position like poker players do

so, regardless of the hands/result, whats the live players think about what i did?

I enjoy the game, i'm not very successful at it, but i do love a game of cards, and i dont want to upset folks when i play with them.

He's upset because he's out of the tournament and he is releasing his frustration by having a pop at you. I wouldn't worry about it any more.

For some poker advice, always raise, never limp.

It's fine. Don't worry about it. As if he'd ever fold QQ pre anyway.

I'd work on your reads tbh.

But yeh as for the rest of it, bro's don't like getting stacked.  Hook him up with a

Not even remotely an angle shoot, sour grapes by the sounds of it.

Also, by definition, "angle shooting" is doing something outside of the basic game in order to decive or effect the actions of an opponent DELIBERATELY, so an accidental angle shoot doesn't really exist, if you happen to unintentionally do something that makes someone do something they weren't going to do then it's complete pot luck if that works out in your favour or not.

IV played in a fair few private poker games where any sort of deceptive speech play is considered very poor form but I severely doubt that what you did here would even raise an eyebrow in those games.

Disappointed with no gifs.  You'd better be better than this in Marbella.

Not an angle-shoot but against the rules AND bad etiquette to openly ask a fella what he's planning on doing and then openly change your decision based on it.

I'd agree with this.

lol @ the guy who wants to say you're angling him meanwhile pretending he's going to muck QQ. Wouldn't even give his comment the time of day, though not a fan of any acting and speech really anyway.

The action goes 1.2k, 3k, 9k.

Personally I wouldn't look all pained and reluctant to jam 18k.

Not angle-shooting but perhaps unnecessary hollywood.

If you're never getting accused of angle-shooting by a live player you're missing some spots

What do people here think about intentional misclicks?

Stealthmunk argues that it's correct to intentional misclick very occasionally to protect your actual misclicks.

Yeah I like to merge my ranges on misclicks too, tikay's a master at it.
