Quick shout out to Mere, as Nick said, so efficient it is frightening, Mere imposes his authority early, clearly explains the rules, stands no nonsense, got the results up promptly after every race (nearly 30 races?), chases the daily selections, &, most importantly, adds a little bit of humour to oil the fun wheels.

I award him 9/10 for the thread.

Would have been 9.5, or even a perfect 10, but he's so bloody miserable.

Thanks Vince, you are a star.

What happened to the wooden-spoon prize that I was so obviously playing for?

Topic for debate.

Before the start of today's races, doubleup suggested that for future competitions it might be a good idea to allow people to choose a "reserve" in the event of their horse being a non-runner.
This would be significant on the last day particularly where getting the SP favourite as a replacement isn't very helpful for people who are a long way behind.

Any thoughts?

As long as it isn't more work for you, I think that sounds fine.
Thx for running, great job.

Surely everyone factors that in to their algorithm?

SELECT red rum IF NR THEN desert orchid.  Etc.

Another great competition superbly run by Baron Spreadsheet as usual.

Good craic all week.

Congratulations to the luckboxes who cashed.

I believe that some algorithms are more sophisticated than others.
