I liked it till it had a dig at the late Princess Diana.

I know things were a little OTT after her death. However, inferring that her only achievements in life were to draw attention to herself and waste tax payers money was IMHO untrue and in poor taste. For me, it sullied what was otherwise a good parody.

Being too serious today, sorry folks.

It was inferring that the funeral's only achievement was wasting taxpayers money and drawing attention to itself, not Diana herself. Point taken though

I read it again and I disagree with you. I think, the way it was worded, it is having a dig at the person and not the funeral.
Not bothered though, the article makes ammends by saying...

Whale says "I didn't do it on porpoise"

I felt far more upset over the death of the whale than that of Diana. The comment " thousands of Londoners lined the streets to stare pointlessly at a dead creature they didn't know", wasn't this the same as Diana. None of us knew her, but that didn't stop people sheding crocodile tears. The whale died in agony, was separated from its own kind and was probably scared witless. Not a nice way to go if you ask me.

I didn't feel upset over Diana, I didn't feel upset over the death of a whale either.  It got lost, it died.  Same thing happens to many other animals around the world every day.  Shame, but not worth getting upset about unless you're a tree hugging hippy, IMO Smiley

I felt far more upset over the death of the whale than that of Dianna. The comment " thousands of Londoners lined the streets to stare pointlessly at a dead creature they didn't know", wasn't this the same as Dianna. None of us knew her, but that didn't stop people sheding crocodile tears. The whale died in agony, was separated from its own kind and was probably scared witless. Diana was just a human being. Human beings are essentially vermin; breeding far too rapidly and infesting an otherwise perfectly good planet - slowly destroying it.

A whale, on the other hand, lives in balance with nature and is a creature of beauty.

I don't think the whale in question was particularly in balance with nature.

If it had been I don't think it would have found itself in central London.

Be careful, when you call people 'vermin' you might end up condoning all sorts of despicable behavior.

Like the 'Bare with me guys' post. I think we are all starting to get a bit argumentative on here today. Lets all be friends folks.
We all have different opinions. Of course we also all believe we are correct. But at the end of the day, it is impposible to say who is right and who is wrong. So, lets all just concentrate on the good things about this forum. They are, a mix of good people who all bring something different and of course our shared love of poker.
