this thread has been serverly edited by myself with the knowledge of the mods

certain things were said that shouldnt have been said and in hindsight were thought better removed to keep the thread  "blonde"

please remember this is an open public forum we all have differering views and lets try expressing them in a way without  flaming attacking or abusing another member

and lets keep things lighthearted

btw bolt welcome to blonde
I'ts all got a bit emotional has it? Lol, sorry for instigating such an emotive topic!!!! You have a diverse arry of members and I've enjoyed, thus far, all the conversation into which i've entered. With reference to my initial post the main point was suppossed to be about my exasperation in being unable to challenge the perpetrators of the increasingly common offensive language found online not the insults themselfs.I'm fairley accommplished at taking a pop now and then so just to let you know i was'nt atall offended by any subsequent posts and was happy to of generated such a response. glad i'ts all been left good and look forward to chatting with you all in the future. cheers boss!!

Hiyas all Smiley

Well I appear to be the wicked witch of Tulse Hill at the moment don't I?

Gosh.

There's a few points I want to make, so get a can of tennants/coke/sprite/cup of coffee etc.

1. Text style writing can be very difficult for people to understand. lots of people don't find it at all easy to read. We are not on a mobile phone.

2. If you are compelled (not made) to write in standard english then you will think about your postings and their content more. It's easy to write something in the heat of the moment, more dificult to post when you are thinking about what you are doing.

3. I have seen forums descend into chaos by allowing people to use text style writing. It looks horrible and belies the intelligence of the posting members on this forum.

4. We aren't on mobile phones.

5. Dyslexics can find text style writing impossible to decipher. my sister was dyslexic, and my mother is.

6. I wouldn't delete anyone's postings for using bad english - I would for deliberately and blatantly disrupting the forum by trolling and using spelling to inflame members. As much as someone typing in 72 pt comic sans can be very annoying to some, intentional bad spelling and disruption by that method is annoying to others.

If I offended anyone, then I apologise. I am a moderator of moderators, by profession in work, and by choice, a moderator on here. It's not my job to make decision that everyone will like.

I am sure I will return to being fluffy and lovely soon enough.

Bolt understand what I am saying. Mystery is more than welcome to pm me if he needs clarification.

I am objective, and am open to comments.

The problem I have with some of the posts lately, is not the spelling. I can understand reams and reams of txt spk, l33t spk, and what ever form of "speak" you care to imagine.

But, the real problem is the sheer lack of punctuation, grammar and most importantly, PARAGRAPHS! It is hard, almost impossible, to deciper what a writer is saying if he does not make use of these basic premises of the English language. It is sheer lazyness not to use them, and shows a distinct lack of thought on the part of the writer. If you cannot be bothered to think about your posts, why should someone be bothered to read them? It is a give and take world, and a happy medium is a friendly medium.

Also, punctuation, such as commas and full-stops are most useful, more than you can care to realise. The written word is an emotionless medium. It is a medium devoid of any indication of how to speak (and therefore read) that particular sentence. Commas tell you when you pause, they indicate breaks between one statement and the next, they help to distinguish items in a list. Full stops and paragraphs are similarly necessary.

Nobody is trying to lecture anybody here, or make themselves out to be more intelligent. It is merely an effort to inform lazy (and I say lazy in a nice way) writers how difficult it is for their thoughts to be understood.

Here is a block of text without punctuation, see how hard it is to read. Spelling mistakes and txt spk only serve to make it even harder to read in a block of text like this:
