I was wondering what people's views were on where the best players come from.
I guess this can be split into two areas, Live casino poker and online. I tend to get the impression from reading about this topic from different online sites that the best internet players are Scandanaviens(sp?). Alot has been writen on various sites about their agressive style of play and most notably the success of Erick123. Is this true?... is their playing style so different?...if it is why haven't others copied it?...
As far as casino poker goes, I guess this is impossible to say for sure. Over the last few years people such as Phil Ivey( USA) and Daniel Negreanu( CAN) have had consistent results in W.P.T events. But many Europeans are also doing well on the World stage.
Is there such a thing as the best poker nation?..or is this an impossible thing to say?
what do you folks think?

I think Chau Giang is from Vietnam as well.
Isn't he supposed to be the best cash player in Las Vegas.
He is Doyle Brunson's next door neighbour.

The Scandinavians have become renowned for a very aggressive style of online play. The best players win big and these are the people from whom the impression that every Scandie is a great player come from, because there are far more of them at the top of the game than the population would suggest.
However, for every Erik123, there are a thousand players who think they are Erik123.
