Amazon to run warnings before people buy the cartoons, because it depicts content of a racist nature.

Does anyone really consider that watching Tom and Jerry will turn people into racists?

Wars are kicking off all over the place based on all manner of religious and creed based nonsense and yet T&J are a cause for concern.

People get paid for this.

Did you know that some Tom & Jerry episodes were edited in the 60s to remove scenes that were considered racially prejudiced at the time?

What's the harm with the warning alongside the rating?



I'm not sure the fact that the maid is black is actually racially prejudiced or not (is that what they're referring to?), but it'd be interesting to know what was removed back in the sixties.

Ones removed from a collection last year were of Tom/Jerry getting cigar smoke blown in the their face and being "blacked-up" and doing a minstrel dance. 

That seems a reasonable course of action but to carry a warning at Amazon just because the maid in the show happens to be black is clearly utterly ridiculous.
