Not sure how many of you knew this guy, he used to play in the big game at the Vic and was usually seen at Vegas for the WSOP.

Well if you don't know him now, you aren't going to meet him for a while

14 years does seem excessive for a financial crime.

Kolakkis got far less for more money.

Ched Evans only got 2 years for raping a girl

Didn't Evans get 5 years?

I can see why the geezer got 14, people losing their homes, more faceless victims in Kolakkis's crimes?

The guy doesn't surprise me at all he had had a few accusations of cheating before.

But that's the first time Ive known an online collusion case go to court in the UK.

They are waffling on about "commissions" - presumably there was some affiliate deal involved?  If so that's prob why it's gone to court not the cheating.

It's definitely to do with affiliate deals and not the actual colluding itself.  Colluding was just an explanation of why so many affiliate deals have been set up imo and they have clearly been ironed out.  Not entirely sure how they found out the affiliates or, secondly, why they would care if he was colluding?

What was Darren Woods name on Betfair?  Just interested as I read he used to play SNGs there, I guess I must have played with him a lot back in the day.

Would be fairly easy and not that smart if he was using the same accounts at the same tables that had all come through a single affiliate especially one set up by him which is what it sounds like.   So many of the people that do this kind of stuff are generally not that smart it often makes me wonder how much the smart ones are getting away with.
