Hi Guy's

I played this hand yesterday and think I play it quite badly. Some info on my opponent in the hand, he is playing 18/11/3 over about 300 hands and seems to be a reg in the $25nl PLO Zoom game, he is playing 4 entries. I get dealt my hand UTG, I have aces so I raise, which I assume is OK. He repots me and it folds to me, my options are to raise to $8.50 or flat? If I was playing 100BB deep I would have raised and left a PSB behind for the flop. As it is though I felt that doing a raise would create a massive pot where I would be out of position against a decent player for the rest of the hand. It also turns my hand a little bit face up and with position allows him to make my life really difficult. So I call. That is the first question should I 4-bet?

I flop 2 pair with the blocker to the NFD and plan to check/raise. I think I should be leading out here, is that correct?

pre-flop, fine I think calling is better than 4betting.

Flop I would defo not lead out and I would DEFO DEFO DEFO not check raise that's about the worst thing you could do IMO, if he 3bets the flop then you're in all sorts of trouble as us blocking the NFD makes made hands+draws that dominate us are more likely and even when he calls there's no real gin turn cards aside from a K/9 - obviously you're way less likely to get 3bet with you holding the Ace of spades but would you really c/r a naked NFD or even a pair+NFD herethis deep? I doubt it, I think you can rep the nut flush equally as well if not better by calling his Cbet.

This hand has so much multi street potential, both as a bluff catcher, a bluff and even a value hand that getting into a stupid huge pot with it OTF seems like a disaster.

He checks the flop, which at this depth I don't think is a huge surprise, leading or check-calling the turn are both fairly reasonable, there is some small value to leading here although play-ability on river cards is an issue (a big one too) getting raised OTT isn't something I'd be too worried about as you'll get raised by JT/bluffs only here. I think my preference would prolly be to get to showdown now as cheap as possible so I'd go for a check call (hopefully a chk/chk)

If I was to lead though I would lead for ~18BB your bet here is far too small, your hand goes kinda face up now you would bet a set or JT or a big draw much bigger (any hand that can stand a raise basically) once he raises your turn bet, I'd call (especially a bet this small) he reps JT or nothing and we can win the pot on a K or 9 and very likely win on a spade.

But yeh I'd go for a turn check/call and then see what happens OTR, I don't think you have enough hand vs range equity to go for a value bet and theQ makes a gutshot so his range CAN have JT.

Pre-Flop and Flop play both good imo.
