Schmeichel

Neville   Ferdinand   Vidic   Cole

Ronaldo   Scholes   Vieira   Giggs

Shearer   Henry

I think Schmeichel, Cole, Ronaldo, Giggs and Scholes are locked in the rest is personal preference

without looking back at the thread

Schmeichel

Neville
Adams
Terry
Irwin

Ronaldo
Scholes
Vieira
Gggs

Shearer
Henry

to my mind 9 pick themselves - only one of the centre backs and left back are really up for debate

the two best teams we've had are United 1998-2005 and Arsenal invincibles. of the above only Shearer and terry are not from those two teams

honourable mentions to bergkamp, cantona, lampard, gerrard, rio, a cole

Scholes > Gerard interests me.

I know the game has changed in the past 29 years and I detest Ashley Cole as much as you do but he really was an amazing left back. He actually could take a good penalty too! But admittedly not as good as Irvin.

It's hard to judge players even from a 20 year span as irwin/neville would struggle these days but I guess it's all relative.

Amazed Irwin was not mentioned until Tighty did

He would be fine today, could get up and down all day attacking threat and good defensively

This would be very close to my team with one or maybe two changes.

Schmeichel - Van der Saar comes close, as does Cech, but Scmeichel was immense
Neville G
Terry - loathesome creature, but ...
Adams
Cole - just gets it vs Irwin for me although that nay be reverse bias
Ronaldo - only gave us three seasons of his best, but his final season was utterly outstanding
Scholes - inarguable IMO
Keane - good arguments for Viera and Yaya Toure but Keane shades it over Viera and Toure hasn.t had the longevity
Giggs - should be in every team in this thread
Henry - probably the best all round forward
Shearer - see comments re Terry, but that goalscoring record is amazing for someone with so few medals

Not a team  for the faint-hearted, but obviously SAF gets the job as manager.

Lol! The best player hasn't even been mentioned yet! The best player to grace the Premier League was Paul Gascoigne. And if it wasn't for Dennis Bergkamp it wouldn't even be remotely close!

Gascoigne's best was a long way behind him when he made his PL debut

Is the question best player to have played in the PL or who played best whilst in the PL?

Comedy. This is like something I'd do on FIFA just to fit all the players in.
