Seemed like a good place to ask as I know many great UK grinders are in these forums.

Whats the consensus going into 2015 with regards to the new raked rebuys coming to stars next year?

Will people still be playing them?

It goes without saying that it's disgraceful they've taken this measure given that it far outweighs the costs they incur, but I want to look at this strictly from a +EV point of view.

Do people think these should be included in our schedule?

I read a lot of comments on the 2+2 MTT discussion thread and elsewhere about them now being unbeatable but I'm not sure I agree. Surely a 52r1a will be no tougher than a $22 freezout Where we pay $2 rake in each. Or have I missed something?

Dropping all of them straight away, its not like there isn't an abundance of small to midstake tournies around anyway. The most annoying thing is during TCOOP, everything is a cubed or rebuy, making it redundant for anyone from the UK (lol turbos)

Any jurisdiction that has had to step up regulation afaik.

Without looking at it too deeply, it is going to take the fat end of a dollar a game off your earn, which effectively makes these games completely worthless for the vast majority in those jurisdictions.

Agree that some but not all may become unplayable. For example. 20 cubed, late 30 cubed, 30r, 50r always and of course 100r are already quite reggish most days so these would have to be dropped. Turbos and especially 3x turbos, and action hours are now impossible. But smaller rebuys, 8r, 10r, 3r and satellites are still playable. My strategy might be in tournaments where you get more add on chips than for the initial buy in, I would try to get to the add on as cheaply as possible and take it. Where rebuy and add on you get the same amount of chips I might try and one bullet it.

It totally sucks and I will play a lot less on Stars.

I still wonder how it works.

Eg British players goes and plays in Prague, will their rebuys be raked?
Czech player logs on to play from the UK, will their rebuys be raked?

It is still not clear which countries will be affected. But UK, Belgium, Greece are likely. They also said something about VAT payments in Germany which was a shock to me as I was under impression that online poker was still technically illegal in Germany, which is why no poker tournaments there can have online satellites (the EPT being the one special exception each year)

If your on stars.Uk you'll be raked and if you move to .com you won't be. Ip doesn't matter address/software does though

Yep this is the case. Note that if you relocate Stars.FR is still IP based so you can't play from UK

I think .fr is a combination of the two, if you played from the UK for too long they'd kick you off. However, when I log in it says "We do not currently offer real money games in your area" so maybe it would be ip based.

"The rake changes to rebuys and hyper turbo single table satellites that were announced to be implemented on January 1st are delayed. I will post again with more detail next week."

They don't appear to have come into effect yet?
