The Amateur Poker Association & Tour have today announced details of the seventh annual World Championship of Amateur Poker (WCOAP).

The blue ribboned festival in APAT’s annual schedule will take place at Aspers Casino in Stratford over a ten day period between March 28th and April 6th, 2015.  Featuring twenty bracelet events, the WCOAP will perhaps offer the most diverse range of poker disciplines outside of the World Series of Poker, and certainly in a festival designed for amateur players.

Disciplines scheduled include Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Stud, Razz and Horse, sitting alongside new formats like Crazy Pineapple, Irish and Open Face Chinese.  These games will be played in a wide range of formats including Shootout, Antes Only, Six Max and Heads Up, while the World Amateur Team Championship will bring several countries to London, to compete for the title won by France in 2014 and England in 2013.

Looks amazing. Not the sort of schedule you could have regularly in the UK but a great once a year jobby and a brilliant primer for the WSOP.

Crazy Pineapple is lots of fun, played that in Australia.

Very well done APAT, that looks a cracking schedule.

Will do my best to play the PLO & PLO8.

Turn up (membership is free), online buy in before the event. they will be sold out before the day (typically)

Thanks Barry.  We're very proud of how this festival has developed over the years.  Everything pretty much always sells out, so it'll be interesting to see whether we can see that demand over ten days - which is five times longer than we're comfortable with!

That next layer of detail is being written up through the xmas break, but I can point you to what we did last year as a guide.

A number of the events are new this season, but you'll get a good idea of typical capacities, structures, etc.

I believe Pineapple is 3 cards, muck one on the flop.

Yup. And pineapple is the same but you much one card before the flop. Actually prefer pineapple because it's easy to spot people's 'ahhhh shit' faces when they would have flopped a monster had they mucked the right card.
