Amazing scenes today in The Solent, as a car ferry lists heavily after running aground on Bramble Sands.

Nonody hurt, or even injured as far as I know, but the IOW Ferries & all Southampton Shipping are curently unable to operate.

It is amazing how wrong news is happy to be reported in a first attempt at the story.

It didn't run into a sand bank by accident, it was driven into the bank that was off the shipping lane so that it did not sink whilst in the busy sea lane. Good decision making by the pilots and captain by the looks of it.

Carrying 1200 Jaguars and Land Rovers, 65 Minis and a Wraith.

Not something you let sink if you can help it.
