Customers now expected "dialogue, not monologue" as technology improved.

If monologue is one person talking on their own, dialogue isn't two people talking to each other. That would be a duologue

How does one complain to the Institute of Customer Service?

Joke tilting

Dia means through, so dialogue literally means talking through, which is fine, provided you aren't using the word specifically to relate to a conversation between two people, because it just means a conversation, however many people are in it (as long as it's more than one). The article implies dialogue means two people.

Do people think diarrhoea is two lots of unpleasant lavatorial experiences? Perhaps until they've been the second time, they call it monorhoea..?
