Nearly forgot.
David Bowie.
Now you've gone too far.
Bowie is a genius.

I can't take anyone seriously if they don't like Martin Lewis.

Don't particularly like the Rolling Stones, but love 'Gimme Shelter', and there are odd songs that I really like from most bands, even if on the most part I think they're crap.

This.
I like a couple of his defining songs, but the majority of what he has churned out has been drivel. Emperors news clothes IMO.

Phil Collins, Paul Weller, Sting - i kinda appreciated your first incarnation..as for the rest of your work..poke it
Nirvana is spot on here, they all moved away from what they done well.
Bowie on the other hand continued to reincarnate throughout the decades, some not so good, however one of Britains greatest imho.

I think a lot of dislikes or preferences could be dictated by mood or certain periods in ones life
Groups such as Floyd,The Doors,Massive Attack,Radiohead and Led Zep etc are not the most up beat with their lyrics but they have delivered some classic tunes
One of my favourite groups of all times are the Smiths .Morrisey is a literary genius and his melodramas and irony are both clever and extremely funny
That said if I've just been done by a two outer or a last minute equaliser I'm not likely to reach for a copy of " Girlfriend in a Coma "
Agreed

Complete wanker isn't he?
As "complete wankers" go, a goodly number of people seem to like him.
Collins is one of only three recording artists (along with Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson) who have sold over 100 million albums worldwide both as solo artists and (separately) as principal members of a band
He is also an "LVO", which is an Honour personally bestowed by our Monarch, none other than Her Royal Queen-Ness. Accolades don't come higher than that.
In fact, I'd go a stage further. It may well be an Act of Treason to diss someone who HM The Queen clearly respects, & it's entirely possible she could order your head be removed.

Phil Collins is one of those acts your supposed not to like, but obviously many do. Need another thread of 'guilty pleasures' of bands and artists you're not supposed to like, but you do.

Pretty much this.
As I get older and there is less "now" stuff I like, I am almost pleased to hear anything, and Bowie fits into this category, but for years was an immediate turn off/over artist for me.
