Do you know what time roughly the 12.00 Day 1 would finish for the mini? I have guessed at around 8-8.30?

schedule, levels and times are on
http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/news/ukipt-mini/2471
day ones are 14 x 30 minute levels, add in 3 breaks and you get 8 hours plus so your estimate is about right

Is there any reason why this is £100+£20 rather than £100+£10?
I just about get why grands prix with all of the added booty of golden chips etc. charge an inflated rake but I'm finding it hard to understand for a UKIPT event.

Number of people who will play because of £200k guarantee >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Number of people who will boycott because of 20% rake
They have some hefty satellite overlays to cover.
They take a big risk with the guarantee so if they hit it they get the big reward with the high rake.
Personally I'd much rather play a £200k guarantee with 20% rake than a £20k guarantee with 10% rake. That's because I hardly ever play so the juice doesn't really affect me. It wouldn't be sustainable for regulars trying to make a living out of it but I don't think that's who these tournaments are aimed at anyway.

It's a £200k tournament with 27.5% of the prizepool used for seats in another tournament. For travelling recs who may not have the freedom to play two weekends in a row that's a factor too.
What happened to the DTD policy of deducting 10% of tbe buy in as rake?

I know exactly what you're saying and I understand it won't suit everyone but at the end of the day people will vote with their feet (or their £120).
This tournament will hit the guarantee and some lucky punter will walk away with £40k and a UKIPT seat for their £120. If it was a £110 comp with a £20k guarantee then some lucky punter would walk away with £5k for their £110. I know that EV wise and mathematically it doesn't work out better but I know which tournament I'd rather play.

I don't think the winner will be taking away £40k. Probably £30k.

I don't think you can correlate the difference in guarantee with the size of the rake in that way.
Just looks like it's £20 because enough people will pay £20 and that's DTD's business decision to make. Just as they decide how big they want to make the guarantee.
For me, it's the 'seats included' thing that deters. Mostly from the perspective of the funds being taken out of the prize pool, but also for the way it artificially introduces another bubble period.

I think the seats thing is quite quirky David, however the rake is another matter for me. It's actually playing on my mind a little if I want to pay the extra bit of money because we already have the other costs as it is, will definitely be a last minute thing for me.

Also worth noting that there is another £5k of rake coming out of the prizepool via those seats too.
