Anyone know exactly how the rng works for this?

Lets say we have a 10 horse virtual race and they are betting to 110%, so an overround of 1% per runner.

Do we just just take 1% off the price of each runner to work out their chance of winning, or does it vary % wise depending on the price how much we take off.

For example if one runner is 3/1 (25%) is it's chance of winning 25% -1 = 24% or because it is taking a 1/4 of the book, does it use up 1/4 of the over round 25% - 2.5% = 22.5%?

Somebody was telling me that every race is logged and analysed in detail in order to produce "proper" form which accompanies those virtual races in the betting shops.

i would imagine the overround is spread as a %.  ie an even money shot has 5% of the 10% overround added to it.  I don't know for sure but it would seem logical.

A substantial % of the virtual greyhounds names are named after the nicknames of the bet365 trading room after Freeth - 365 PR guy (who used to work at SIS) got them to name numerous of the virtual dogs for a laugh after the senior traders nicknames when sis first set up the virtual product way back in the day.  No idea if the same virtual dog names run from 2003 or whether they have been 'retired' and younger dogs taken their place!

Found an independent up here who moves the favourite in every virtual race to the next full point.

If the jolly is 5/4, he pays out at 2/1.

Seems pretty fair, might spend a week in his shop so he changes his rules Smiley

What do they bet most of those races to?  You got 11% in ur favour in that spot.  Are there many dogs/horses between 11/10 and 6/4 for example in those races.  I have never looked i assumed they were like 4/1 the field type races.  getting 2/1 about a 5/4 poke must be + EV and makes you look like a mug to get on other stuff.  most of the bets he lays at 10/1 and giving 11/1 won't give the punter the edge just a smaller negative edge.  Wonder what he would lay on a 11/10 poke on the show which he pays 2/1 on.

Most are 3/1 - 4/1 the field, but they have a few 18 runner, 7/1 the field type races and a few 8 runner 5/4, 5/2, 10/1 bar two type.

Bet to around 112-115 in the 8 runner heats.

No idea what his limits are, guess I'll soon find out!

If you walk in there and ask for the form it might help you get a run.
