Bad move by Chess Grandmaster.
Rather enjoyed this little story, don't quite know why.

Fun story, that chess one. I'm sure it's becoming more prevalent. Why wouldn't it?
I should just say that the Tigran Petrosian who played against the Georgian is not the 1963-69 World Champion. I don't think they're even related. This is a 30 year old chap, Tigran L. Petrosian.

I would imagine that, as it would in poker, the chess world & forums are getting rather excited about this story.
I also read that Kasparov & Short plan to hold a World Championship of some sort in St Louis, which I saw described as the "chess capital of the USA". What is the significance of that match, & why St Louis?

I did post about it on Chess Thread last week.
St Louis has a reasonably rich chess history, but it also currently has a few rich people who like chess...

I enjoy this thread, but I don't always know which news items some of the pictures refer too.

I'm never quite sure whether to put a link to every photo, Tom, or let people try & work it out.
Which of today's ones are not obvious to you? - I'll add a link.
It has been a rich day for interesting news items, yesterday nothing particularly caught my eye, today, loads of stuff.
