An interesting thing happened to me last night and I wondered if any of the Glasgow lads could clear up the mystery.

I play on a site under the name of MissHoolie and for those of you who dont have young kids she is the school teacher in a kids programme called Balamory (I know...its was the first name that came to mind  Roll Eyes)

So this chap asked me if Im Scottish and I say yes I am. He asks if I live in Glasgow and I say no. He then asks if im married and I say no...the clue is in the name  Cheesy. He then asks if I know a guy called Greg Hemphill which I reply no. AAHHH so you are not the real Miss Hoolie then he says.

By this time I'm quite curious and ask the guy what he means.

He said that the actress who plays Miss Hoolie (Julie Nimmo) is married to an actor/comedian called Greg Hemphill who happens to be a very good poker player and they thought I might have been her.

So my question is...anyone know this guy and does the real Miss Hoolie actually play poker?? I will pmsl if it turns out she does.  Cheesy

Yes indeed

Didn't realise he was a poker player. Maybe he should stick to it - the Christmas Chewing the Fat was rubbish.

I knew Greg played poker and infact I have played aganst him twice.   But I never knew he was narried to the teacher from Balamory, incidentally while on the topic of Ballamory the wee Asian lassy who appears on it quite often is the daughter of the guy who own a shop around my way.

And that wee shell suit Baob from River City stays just around the corner from me as well. Cool

Quite an interesting story Suzanne, it just goes to show how much people concentrate on names etc, personally I don't bother with them but some folk obviously think there is something in that.

Me & Mrs Teacake took my daughters up to Tobermory (the place where Balamory is set) a couple of years ago. We stayed in a hotel in Oban where you get the ferry to Mull.
At breakfast I recognised the guy in front of me but couldnt place him. I pointed him out to Mrs Teacake who said it was PC Plum from Balamory. The Teacake kids were rather excited at this so I took them over to him for a chat. He was a very nice chap talking away to the kids in character & all that, they were over the moon. He was there with a "friend" & I have to say he was camper than a row of pink tents (not theres anything wrong with that  Cool)

We bumped into him about 5 times that day, he must have thought we were stalking him  Cheesy
