Doesn't surprise me at all, there are loads of countries where you find this attitude to varying degrees.

My ex got groped twice in India when we went there, A friend of mine got in a fight years back in India because someone groped his missus, even 'minor' stuff like this is pretty common place and they just laugh about it.

Think it's at least in part down to the really conservative attitude towards sex there, so some guys look for other ways to get a cheap thrill. Not trying to justify it, just saying that is probably part of the reason at least.

It's very sad how many women live under oppression and have fewer rights simply because they're female.  This article I read earlier today shows just how bad it is in some countries.

It's not perfect here, but it's hard to imagine what it must be like to be a woman living in a place like that - where things like getting an education aren't an automatic right, and rape victims are often treated as criminals.
