Recently Fernando Alonso had a big crash in F1 Testing

he lost consciousness and woke up "thinking it was 1995"

If you fell asleep reading this thread, and woke up and it was early March 1995....

where would you be and what would you most likely be doing?

I was in Florida for a month at the back end of a year long trip working and travelling in the US. A few months earlier I had just left LA and just missed the big earthquake there by a week.

Working in a Tax Office in Nottingham dealing with Inheritance Tax. Probably spent most of work time discussing Forest's win over Everton and looking forward to the away game at Filbert Street, was a season I went to nearly 40 games!, we ended the season 3rd and next season were in UEFA Cup.

Just started a new job and had picked up the keys to my first company car, 1.8 litres of throbbing Renault Laguna RT power. Did 70,000 miles in two years before the engine let go big time whilst in lane 3 of the M40. As the saying goes that's when you find out the colour of adrenalin is brown.

In College, doing A-levels

Most likely playing pool in the common room or reading the racing pages and picking out my bets

2nd year at Loughborough uni betting and punting every day in betting shops like the naive 19 year old degen i was then in between gym and drinking sessions.  Found my first big betting edge in March 1995 which convinced me long term i could make the game pay and landed a £850 payday with it for a £8 bet.  Never forget that day collecting that sort of cash back then which was bigger than my entire terms student grant.
