Replace him with Suzi Perry.
Now THAT would work. I don't watch Top Gear, but if Suzi were the host, count me in. If she wore her spectacles, I'd even watch the repeats, too.

Clarkson and a partner own the show Top Gear.
Any other channel snaps it up.
they sold it to the BBC for millions a few years ago and the partner is prob the bloke he had a fight with?
Sort of.
As I understand it, the BBC acquired 50% of Top Gear from Clarkson & his Business Partner in 2012. Clarkson still owns 30%, & his Business Partner holds 15%. So, quite a mess now, but the Company must be worth a good few bob.
The alleged fracas was with a Producer, but not 15% man.

If they do give Clarkson the bullet, there will be a lot of clamour to replace with a woman, probably. And Suzi Perry would be absolutely great for it.

Wonder if, given that the BBC only own 50% (I believe), & Clarkson & his mate own the rest, is it possible to fire him? Effectively, they'd be sacking the guy that owned half the Show?
Dropping the Show would seem more practical, but then they write off their investment, & kill their 50% of the action.
Guess if Clarkson were cute, he'd replace himself as Host, & continue to reap the monetary rewards, whilst he goes off & makes more money on another project.
There are echoes here of when Jonathon Ross was suspended by the BBC after the matter with Brand & Sachs. The Show was owned & produced by Ross, & the Production staff continued to be paid by Ross's company whilst the Show was off air temporarily.
It's quite interesting how these Shows become owned by third parties. One of the most successful is "Hat Trick Productions", who have sold all sorts to various TV channels. Their flagship show is HIGNFY.

Telegraph saying Sky have made repeated efforts to get all 3 of the TG presenters. Would they want this kind of controversy all the time especially after the Andy Gray incident?

Fair point. JC would not get the leeway he got at the BBC though.

The BBC is the only broadcasting organization that could turn down the huge pile of cash this program brings in, I reckon.
Of course it would turn up somewhere else.

The Times suggested that the BBC's "dividend" from Top Gear in 2012 (they owned 50% of the rights) came to £4 million. If true - might not be - that's not much in the scheme of things.

Apparently Clarkson swung a punch at one of the producers for not organising any dinner while they were filming on location. Seems fair enough!
Just seen the doorstop interview with James May....
Reporter: Do you support Clarkson?
May: No! He is a knob!
Reporter: Can you tell us what happened?
May: No! I was blind drunk!
Brilliant! This whole thing is very TopGear and the BBC must be loving it. All over the media. How many more viewers now? If they did actually bust up their most lucrative commercial stream because Clarkson is being Clarkson that would be hilarious. It would also accelerate the demise of the draconian license fee, continuing to highlight their seriously shit business skills.

From twitter: @JamesWorron: Before the Beeb radicalised him Clarkson was a beautiful young man.

Sigh...
It's pretty stupid they won't finish the series in my opinion. Should at least finish off the recorded episodes just cutting it like that seems quite silly.
