That must be the worst cash out in history.

It gets worse:  In the early 1990’s he saw that Apple was plummeting and decided to sell the original document of the first Apple company agreement for $500. After nearly two decades, that same exact document was sold at an auction for $1.8 million dollars.

This is the genius of it.

On the bottom of a pack of Marlboro, you have that barcode. It was a design that appeared suddenly on all the team apparel, all the branding stuff and even the Ducati motorbikes.

It wouldn't take long for word to get out as to what it related to and then, once you know, you'd tell someone else, they'd pass it on and so on.

Everyone knew tobacco advertising in some countries was banned and now the big Marlboro sign was being replaced with what looks like a barcode. Doesn't take much sleuthery to work it out.

They had to withdraw it in 2010, but it's one of the great advertising coups in sport, IMO.

What Tal Bloke said.

It was sheer genius, because all who saw it said "ooh, what they REALLY mean is Marlboro", so it actually RAISED awareness of the brand.

The Repsol Brabham tried a similar trick, albeit less successful.

That's superb, good spot.

Them F1 boys know all the tricks. Thank goodness we have - or had -  Bernie running the show. Can't imagine he would approve of such skulduggery.
