I'm not sure what to think of a hand from a small stakes live tournament I recently played:

£25+5 tournament
Blinds 1,000/2,000

Stack: 45,200

Average stack at table is about 30BB (60k). Down to two tables from four, and as usual in these tournaments nearly everybody has tightened up a lot. This is also the kind of tournament where people fold too much to short shoves etc as we approach the money.

Villian limps UTG+2. He has been playing passive and loose pre-flop and very aggressive post-flop, often betting/donking full pot or even more on flop in most of the hands he has played, so much so that people have commented on it. He has folded to raises after doing this on  at least two occasions. He started the hand with around 50K

I'm in the HJ and have   ;

- What should I do here?

- I limp (how bad is this?), both blinds call, from stacks of 55K and 90K and flop is  - Two Diamonds- . Blinds check, villain bets 6K into 8k pot. What should I do here?

The only solution I can come with is to fold pre, but this seems a bit weak....

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

i'd make a small raise preflop to 5-6k, will thin the field, ideally isolate our man, and give us the initiative. If he does donkbet full pot, we have an easy decision on most boards. This board for example I'm shoving.

As played, I think it's close between raising to 14k and calling a jam or just flatting.

Folding pre is definitely too weak.

Thanks Alex,

I raised to 18k, he called and then shoved the turn, and I (tilt...) called and lost to his  .

I had thought the outcome would been the same whatever I did, as he would have definitely called pre and flopped top pair, but it could have gone differently if I took the initiative and put pressure on him. Being passive pre-flop was definitely my undoing here
