The BBC news....

...app is pissing me off.

Everything comes in categories, which you have to per-select. The trouble is, if there is say, a big story about a British celeb who had cosmetic surgery that went wrong, it would come under the heading of Top Stories, but it would be repeated in UK news, and again in the Health section, and yet again in Entertainment and if it was a new procedure, it would also get a mention in Technology and, like as not, Features and Analysis. That's 6 repetitions of the same story. 5 of which I have to skip because I've already read it.

I need a new news app, preferably one that I don't have to sign up or log in to, and doesn't have a 'Breaking News' ticker running in my eye line.

All suggestions gratefully received. (barring anatomically impossible ones)

Don't you have an android? You might as well just access the website itself usually if you do, the responsive design most websites use now means it should be easy enough to use.

Yes, that's true Jon, but with the BBC app I could browse when I was offline, albeit news that was updated the last time I was online.
