the article concludes

"So listen up, cardrooms – it's time to listen to your customers, & flatten those payout structures. It's good for the game."

Played the UKIPT Notts PLO tourney on Sunday and was at Marcel Luske's table when the manual payout was passed around by the dealer.  He definitely wasn't happy with it but couldn't work out if it was because it was too flat or not flat enough (and didn't ask) and he went to speak to Simon (I think) about it.  Busted before I found out if anything got changed.

We must have shared the same table. Were you the dashingly handsome chap?

I was indeed but alas there must of been two of us as it was after Marcel moved from your table after second break.  However was able to see the fun being had from my seat and was hoping for an early seat move to join in!

If you flattened it I still think 2/3 of comps would end with a chop

I would prefer it if they sorted out the structure of these low-medium buy in comps.

That's what causes most comps to be chopped.

People stop playing just as quick if they cash for £50 in a £35 comp at 2am, or bust at 11pm for nothing.

With reference to the DC event having 19 games, I've just noticed there is a mini FTOPS event that's a 25 game mix!

I could not name the 19, never mind 25. (Without googling, that is).

Neither could I to be honest, for the wsop event anyway.  There's actually a wider range of games in the 19 game wsop event. The 25 game ftops is pretty much standard 8 game but with most of them played at FL, PL and NL.

25 game is a lot of fun, but you are absolutely correct that the WSOP DC game has a wider variety. Badeucey and Badacey are really great games. I also feel big bet o8 is neglected unfairly in a lot of mixes.
