Bet Sizing, SB V BB

2 From the Bubble, SB Versus us in the BB.

We have 3 bet the player quite a lot, he's folded every time.

We have ? ?

Blinds 300/600.

SB= 21k  We have 37k

SB Raises to 1400 (pot 2k) We call the extra 800 (pot 2.8k)

Flop 

SB cont bets 1.3k, we raise to 3467. He calls.

Pot = 9734 - He has 16680 behind.

Turn 

He checks, We bet 2899. I really like this bet, it's so cheap as a bluff or for value and it's effictivly committing him for his stack on the river, and after calling the flop I don't expect he should ever be raising here OTT hardly ever.

River is the  , not the best of cards but not terrible either.

Pot OTR is 15532, he has 13781.

We set him all in.

I dont quite get what we are looking at here? are you just line checking when taking off on coordinated flops where you believe your range looks better than villains because they play weak tight? what cards were we looking for on the river?

It's really interesting what we can defend from BB / SB. It was good he made it 200 more than a min raise though.

He's quite card centric.

Expect him to fold the flop a lot here.

I really like the turn bet, less than the raise on the flop but set up perfectly to jam the river. It's just something I've been playing about with - different bet sizes - especially on FT or the Bubble. He can fold (which is amazing if we're bluffing) but also expect a lot of calls given the great price he's getting.

OTR it's good to put him to the test.

Was really interesting he called with Ace King, with the ace of hearts. I was way off the mark as to what I could expect him to fold OTR.

On the flop, it's not a great flop for him.

He has a lot of broadways, good Aces, pairs, flush draws.

I expect him to fold a lot of his 2 over type hands.

I don't expect him to call the flop with 99 plus. (88-77), or a flush draw (given stack size/ whats in the pot).

Have seen him get it in against me with an overpair on a  drawy board (deeper). That hand went cont bet, I raised, he 3 bet jammed flop, I called.

I don't think after the flop he has a flush draw or 88 plus.

He could have ace 3/2/6, but expect he might limp these pre.

Was an interesting one.

Can you name some of the hands you expect to fold turn? And how do you think the benefits of the small sizing outweigh the price you're giving to your opponent if he holds a type of hand hoping to realise its equity?

He could fold a lot of his big Ace type hands that have got stubborn on the flop, knowing that even if he hits he could well not be good. Or 55 or 77.

Especially given that he should know he's facing an all in OTR.

I'd say the bolded hands the villain might hold are either pretty happy or very happy on that flop.

It looks really weird betting so small OTT after the flop bet, that's what I found really interesting in the hand.

The call with AK is really interesting too.
