Should combine an APAT event with a blonde bash imo

finding an available date once we had to change the original one is tough.

i am at dtd this week so will raise it and see what we can do

any joy? I really think a bash would revive some traffic on here (though i must say this has been a good week!)

Hi ruud,

No, not yet, sorry.

I'll try & have a word with Rob in the next few days. I was with him most of the UKPC week, but I had a fair bit on my mind & Rob was away most of it, on a canal barge of all things. He's had his hands full with the Party thing, then the Parry takeover (which swung & swong all over the shop) & the GP Tour of the Football Grounds, so I expect it slipped down his list of priorities.

I'm not convinced, personally, it will bring in many new Members, or even that many existing Members will attend, but we shall see.

And yes, it's been a great week so far, with so many people making that bit of effort, & getting back into the habit of interacting & starting new threads. I'm really pleased with September so far, we just have to keep that momentum now.

I swear you say this things purely to put me on tilt.

How on earth can an internet poker forum have momentum?

How on earth can an internet poker forum have momentum?

I may throw the occasional Little Danny reference in, just to pique your interest, but no, of course I don't. I leave all that to the negative hecklers, those worthless sorts who have nothing positive to say, but just knock knock knock.

It makes perfect sense to me, too. Forums - groups of people engaging in chit chat - do have momentum, impetus, mood swings.

I must say, the range of matters that tilt you is most intriguing.

Anyway, it's Sunday morning, always a happy time, so let's share a Sunday smile.

I'm not convinced, personally, it will bring in many new Members, or even that many existing Members will attend, but we shall see.

Sad but true.

TBH I think the site is past bashes now. Not enough recs to attend and the regs/pros busy playing a packed schedule. From recall, the last one was not as well attended as expected and with no agreement/changes on date for this one, people cannot commit what with work/family commitments elsewhere.

Think there might be more luck with some regional meet ups rather than a bash.

That mirrors my thinking. Times have changed.

Rob has offered to host one, & pay all the costs, so yes, I'll support it with gusto & stuff, but I fear a low turnout.

It's part of the whole poker forum thing - they had a heyday, maybe 8 to 10 years ago - but now, most of the UK ones have now withered & died.

Anyway, I'll discuss it with Rob next time we speak, which is usually 2 or 3 times per week.  We've both had a fair few distractions of late. Rob must be wondering what will happen with Party, too, what with all the takeover palaver.

That wasn't/isn't meant as a negative post from me either, would love to attend a bash if I am free. Just a pragmatic view of poker in the current climate

No, I knew that, you are not the type to knock for the sake of it. I really don't like those sorts, tbh. Time sponges, & they sap the enthusiasm of so many. It's so easy to be negative.

How about putting a blonde team together for the BCPC team event for next year it will be at a Casino in Brum in Feb/March 2016, with team event on Saturday and a NLH/PLO mixed game on the Sunday I believe. Could be as part of a few regional get togethers?

I think blonde has become too serious for a full on bash as much as it disappoints me

Back in the day recs out numbered the regs massively now I would say it's other way round

Many of the recs moved on to the like of apat and sky and blonde became a more serious poker/gambling site

Running a bash at an apat event would be hard considering how many regs are not amateur maybe trying to get into a sky event would work

Not sure how easy it is to get into sky and apat events anymore used to be quite hard with tickets selling out in 5 minutes for apat
