Yes.

60mph = 88 feet per second

Acceleration under gravity = 32.17 feet per second per second

88 / 32.17 = 2.74 seconds

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fastest_production_cars_by_acceleration lists 8 that are faster than that.

Amazing, and presumably things like F1 cars and drag racers can do it even faster.

Those times are quite pedestrian compared to this little electric car called a Grimsel, 0 - 62 in 1.785 seconds!

Here is a totally underwheming video



Apparently some top fuel drag racers are doing 0 - 60 in under 0.8 s.
