This might be the most tilting thread in the history of Blondepoker.

Agree.
I don't even want to read some of the responses.

I don't see what's tilting about it?
For the record I'm Person B. Person A gave me a tenner but it actually came to less than the estimated £20 so I owe a couple of quid back which got us into the conversation of how you'd generally work this out.
I'd generally just split it but that's not always fair based on distance. Thought it was an interesting one mathematically.

It's always a case of person A just stuffs whatever non-£10 note + coins they have into person Bs hands, wishes them a good night, tells them the to give them a call next week, staggers out of the taxi and throws up their kebab on their neighbors front yard. Then proceeds to try and quietly let themselves in the house, without making a noise yet making a shushing noise to themselves and giggling.
I'm person A btw.

If I was Person B I would expect and accept nothing from Person A. I'm going to spend the £20 anyway, so it makes no difference to me if someone gets a lift to a point on my journey that doesn't inconvenience me in any way.
If I was Person A I would buy Person B a pint next time I saw him.

Instantly made me think of the mate in a curry house 'Well mine comes to £8.95, because I had normal chicken, and no naan'
I don't go out on the piss anymore, but if I ever dropped mates off on the way home, I would just tell them not to worry, and they would say the same if I was the one dropped off.
In the event we were going on a long journey, it was always a carve up.

Whatever Person B is happy with, which tends to be just whatever in my experience. Its dull to sort and just whatever.

Wasn't getting "all gestapo" about it.
Just mentioned it was a tilting thread and Charles couldn't see why.
So I told him.
I can imagine some Person A's would have a celebration wank over getting a free ride home, but I wouldn't choose to share a taxi with many of them.

If I was having to make the journey regardless, it still wouldn't bother me if someone was being dropped off on the way.
I would probably be strict about not waiting for them though, them being in the taxi wouldn't have to inconvenience me in any way if they were getting a free ride home.

I thought, for once, you were asking a serious question.
Silly me. Lesson learnt.
