I have a settee/sofa/couch with springs that go back to front under the seat cussions.  Obviously isn't a particularly well built one, as the springs are held in place by a little plastic clip.  One is broken and we now have a sagging sofa with one spring with a severe bend in it (It is bent about 90 degress currently.  Even if I straightened it, I am not going to be able to attach it to a broken plastic clip.

So currently under one cussion we have spring/spring/spring/broken spring/spring.

Is there an easy fix I can do?  I can lay something on top of the working springs though think it may raise comfort issues (not that it is comfortable now).  I suspect if I choose something too flimsy the kids will choose exactly that point to jump on the sette and snap it within a week.

Can you replace the clip with a cable tie?
Sounds more of a deep seated problem Tom

I bet it broke because he keeps putting his futon it.
