I thought I did quite well too tonight.   Music round was easy enough, did OK on the county sign round, couple of the pictures and a few others.

I'm filled with such a perverse sense of happiness whenever Jeremy Paxman uses the word popular and an unconquerable sadness when, as is more common, he instead says classical.

Haha! Really?

I know Nerve-ana and I posted them somewhere before but I couldn't remember where.

I got the Bay City Rollers, two of the cloud questions, the plimsoll line and seven others that I can't remember atm.

Yuh, I also got 11. Unfortunately nirvana only managed 9 in our type-off, so is now 1-0 down on the cereal.

Our scores extremely depressed by needing to type them before they speak them. I got 39 right by normal measures.

Damn you - had to watch it now that you posted that.

Seems to have been a particularly soft week. I would say that the road signs, in particular, were too easy for UC.

11, which is a lot more than normal, though I had an unfair advantage with the Dublin one.

i'm getting 9-11 questions right per episode in this new series

don't remember getting anywhere near that previously

seems to me that the questions are a bit more populist (more recent music, some sport etc) and pssobily they've been dumbed down a bit?

get tremendously frustrated when intelligent captains don't listen to the question and answer "a room with a view" and not E M Forster too! several examples of this last night

Also 'U2' when he clearly asked for the singer.

I don't think the questions have been dumbed down all that much (a lot of them are still 'stuff you should know if you're doing a physics/maths/history/etc degree') but there have been a few more populist ones thrown in (mostly so Paxo can sneer at them).

It was also lovely that they let Kate Middleton play for Newcastle last night.

Irritating that they keep blurting their answer out over the sound of their own buzzer as well.

Got about 6/7 last night. Me and the missus shouting Craig David in unison after 1 second being the highlight.

Got the Swan Lake one but did answer Swan Lake to the previous two questions as well so I guess that devalues that answer.
