Just sussing out what to do for currency for my upcoming trip. There seems to be a plethora of online sites to get currency from many of which I've never heard of, anyone got a rec for one they have used with decent rates please?

Used both of these with no problems, and even got a shade better rate for size by asking.  These are usually tough to beat for USD, no real experience with other currencies.

We have used these a couple of times, at the time we used they were the best rates around.

Didn't know you wanted delivery.  depending on size of transaction, it may be worth collecting, depending on where you are to start with.  I'm sure they will deliver, but I have no personal experience of any currency delivery service.

I've used Thomas Exchange Global for delivery, and never had any problems.

I find buying local currency when you get there works out well. Take english with you and just buy in cash. We did this in dubrovnik recently and the rates were good.

Some places it is and some places it isn't mate. The general advice for where I'm going is buy out there but I'm finding the opposite after a bit of research....

Mostly Japan this time mate, will be scooting through Thailand briefly though and I know it's best to buy it there, it's more Japan I'm thinking about on this thread. Pushing 55 at the moment there right?

Just bought some from M&S at a good rate, the Mrs has a credit card though so we got a better rate.

Fairfx also good.

M&S cardholder rate is consistently 1. (sometimes Two Clubs) worse than what is available at the better places.  At the time of writing, M&S cardholder rate is just under 1.53, while the main London firms go 1.545.

In English, that is $15 left on the floor for every £1k's worth you buy.  For those going on holiday with $500, then the amounts make it hardly worth crossing the road for, never mind going across town.  But for someone looking for a $20k poker roll, it amounts to a few hundred in unnecessary cost and is worth going a bit more out of your way to secure the best rate.
