is it just me? the judging last night was eccentric and frankly barmy. people over-marked, under-marked, lots of favouritism towards certain couples...savaging of others

Jamelia for example was about 6 points too high, katie about 6 points too low just to give two examples

just wish they would judge it straight, and less of the histrionics

and the music choices often don't suit the music. salsa is not disco, its cuban! just rename the dance disco if you are going to give them that music

This afternoon, Betfair sportsbook were one of only 2 bookies still offering prices on Ainsley to win.  A tiny bit of research would have told them he was out already.  I couldn't resist trying to put £50 on with them.  They offered me min 10p, max 25p..  Can't be too careful.

Jeremy's salsa is going to be about as slow as it gets. They could tango to that!

You have to suspend rational thought in Halloween week. It's more a family-friendly sideshow than a dance contest. I came to that conclusion a few years ago after getting annoyed about the absurdity of it. Seems to have reduced the blood pressure.

This is Halloween Week done properly: series 8, Scott Maslen and Natalie Lowe do a Viennese Waltz. They got 39.

Next elimination is any 2 from Jeremy, Carol, Jemelia and Kirsty.

I think Jeremy and Carol must lose if facing anyone but each other.  I figure it must be odds on one of those 2 is in the bottom 2 and loses.  Carol is about 3/1 which seems fair.  Jeremy was 8/1+ on Betfair just now, which seems very very generous. 

I tried the Sportsbook and they maxed me at £2.50 at 7/1 when 10x that was available on the exchange at 8/1+.  How do these people grow their profits so much each year?

Anyway I snaffled it all on the exchange, wouldn't put anyone off 7/1+.  Such a good price.

So difficult to know as we're not betting on the dances at all (we all know who'll be at the bottom end of the leaderboard) but we're betting on the voting which is a black hole.

Is Carol sitting on top of the voting each week, like John Sergeant was, making her invulnerable to the dance off or is she just surviving by the skin of their teeth?

I'm with you on Carol. I think it might be her time. I suspect Kirsty might get close to her highest score tomorrow, where one or two might surprise the other way.

Georgia 40/1 to go next is a little tempting, although you have to find someone to beat her in the dance off.

Must admit I'm still surprised to see Kellie at 12/1 to win. Lost a lot of weight, supported by the BBC and has the best all round dancer in the competition with her.

You can see the polling on digital spy and neither is doing that well in the polls.  If it is close at the bottom with a few equal scores fhen it is much easier to jump 5 places and miss the playoff.  Carol and Jeremy both going to struggle if the scoring at the bottom is spread about.

completely wrong music and often the dances bear no resemblance to what they are meant to be. Peter's foxtrot wasn't one. carol's rumba was about as sexy as a fish finger factory.
