very nice, loved the [all too short] smokebelch rendition.

i mean to get a sabres of paradise track into the royal albert hall and on the bbc is proper boss.

some of those tracks hold great memories for me great to see them being celebrated by the bbc.

really nice selection from tong, too. had to go big and commercial, but he snuck some downright classics in there too.

to go off-topic, tong has done as much as anyone to promote dance music and as such promote youth culture.

give that man his mbe, imo.

He got one last year.

I agree, quite rightly, too.

What?

He got an MBE for playing records?

That is ridic.

MBE's should be awarded to lollipop ladies & train drivers. Playing records, my arse.

Superb.

Might nip out to Ibiza for the Bank Holiday weekend now

It seemed to work - Ms Bromley won her UKPC seat.

I have somehow managed to end up booked to go closing weekend for the first time in about 15 years - this has given me my first twinge of excitement about the whole thing.

Not really studied line ups yet (we have not chosen the best weekend musically imo), but Friday night at Privilege (SuperMartXe) and Sataurday at Pacha for Pure (Basement Jaxx) - seem the most likely.
Only over there for a few days so pulling me away from Del Mar/Kanya/Mambo will be an effort.
