How many times did you watch this?

Simple, superb.

Google, best thing ever.

Having said that, note the startling difference between the old goggle logo, & the new one.

It would be interesting to know how much those intricate design changes cost them.

I have this as the new logo, perhaps it changes depending on fonts used in your browser?

Yes, that's the new new logo, I showed the old new logo, alongside the old old logo.

Glad that's cleared up!

They remind me a little of Pokerstars, in that they earn so much money, they don't know what to do with it.

I have this sort of mental image, of the weekly Board Meeting, every Monday morning, & a bloke walks in with a wheelbarrow full of cash & says "so where are we going to put this?".

The old old new logo was three dimensional. The old new logo was two dimensional. The new new logo is flat.

So pretty much like Full Tilt back in the old days.

Full Tilt found a way to get rid of it, I believe.

It's quite interesting actually. For little companies, changing their logo to keep up with modern typography trends is no big deal. I suspect this changes when you're a superpower, and your old logo is what has helped you generate £billions, and is how you are recognised globally.

2010 was roughly the time when everyone started ditching their no-nonsense, "highest professional standard" serif fonts; in favour of the soft, friendly, fun sans-serif look that you see on just about everything nowadays. There must be a pretty good reason it's taken Google until late 2015 to join the rest of the world in terms of appearance.

There used to be these silly games where you would identify a corporate logo from just one or two letters, and it was startling how recognisable the font itself was. I know we scoff at how much money these companies spend on brand development, but clearly the guys behind it are very good at what they do.

Looks flat to me. Although I do see why you've come to that conclusion.
