I think this is another one of those things where we percieve something to have a bigger backlash against it, because those who are opposed to it are much more vocal, and those that are not are shy about expressing it.

Really?  She got thrown out by her party because she had become so unpopular that they thought they would lose the election.    Would definitely go 50/50 over 90/10.  North England, Wales and Scotland graph would be 25/75 and South England would be 75/25.

That's a bit like saying people from Nottingham don't reckon much to Brian Clough because he got them relegated.
