Been aware of this site for a while but never used it before until this weekend for the rugby.

Prices for any hotels in the vicinity are ridiculous on game weekends and getting in and out of central London is a pain. Managed to rent a room in someone's really smart apartment for £50 in Richmond, excellent value for money considering the other options.

Anyway I'm a convert and shall be using it again, worth a look if you want to save a few quid on somewhere to kip.

Used it in London before a Wembley gig. Fantastic house/room, brilliant host. Would recommend.

Parents coming to visit this month and Airbnb roughly 40% cheaper for often better quality than hotels.

I use this exclusively when travelling not for business now. The absolute nuts.

Sonour how does it work from a host's point of view and anybody that has stayed in a house with someone living there.

I am soon to be living in my three bed house alone, I can afford it BUT it would be nice to get a little bit of extra money in each month without having to have somebody permanently renting a room.

Having someone living in my house all month with all their stuff does not seem appealing for £500 a month BUT having someone in maybe every other week for a couple of nights a week and me getting £100-200 might be a little more especially the types of people that would use this in my area I suspect would be business men and it might be quite interesting meeting new people etc.

Although im not 100% comfortable with having random strangers in my house!

The properties I let are all whole property lets, a house and two flats. On the whole the guests I have hosted have been very very nice but only a matter of time before I run into someone less so I'm sure.

Airbnb provide insurance up to £650,000 to cover any theft or damages.

Like ebay it is all built round feedback both by the host and guest so you can see who you are hosting before you accept the booking.

If you gave it atry you could specify a maximum stay. My guess would be if you gave it a try you would continue but would modify the profiles of those you accepted.

Two of my properties don't accept children, none accept pets, and I'm reluctant to host young men under the age of 30 unless they have exemplary reviews.

Can I choose to accept 20-30 year old women or is that frowned upon!

I may give it a go, my current flatmate is not out yet and it was just an idea. We have a holiday let that we let out in north wales so we have most of the things we may need, towels, shampoo, shower gel, regulations and stuff so from that side of it it should be a breeze.

House sharing isnt that bad. I just moved to Great Sankey in a houseshare, but the landlord is live out so I suppose that is different.

My suggestion would be to look at implications on things like Council Tax. You're eligible for a discount as living on your own but are you still eligible if you Air BNB it?

I will probs rent this house out soon and move into town, Warrington is slowly picking up for town centre living and with the new cinema, bars and restaurants it should get a lot better.

How is great sankey treating you, where bouts do you work? I'm in town everyday if you wanted to meet for a Celtic, I mean a nandos

Its ok, I've not really got out much tbh because of situation atm. I work up by Birchwood on Olympic Park, so manage to avoid town! You doing APAT in Manc this weekend?

According to google it is but i cant find it on google maps and have never seen it (but havent really got to know the area yet)
