Apart from Jon, has anyone else tried and failed?

Yes.  I dont know why.  You need a url ending in.jpeg(or jpg I can't remember) not a short url but I dint know why your phone does it.

At least you tried mate.

It's at times like this you discover who your friends are....

Tom I use Dropbox and Photobucket. When I click the share tag I get an option to "copy link to clipboard" then paste into where ever you want to post it.

Thanks Kev. I use Photobucket too, but the Google pictures thing is pretty cool, it stores all your pics with no limit on space and makes them easy to find.

For example, I uploaded over 4000 photos last night, this morning I wanted to find a particular one so I searched for 'man hat' and it retrieved all the pictures I have of men in hats.

It works with all sorts of commands, I searched 'Settee' and It found about 30 pics containing settees.

It would be great if I could just post pictures to the forum from it using my phone.

Download the dropbox app. You can then copy/drag the photo's you want to post. The space is limited but if they are just copies you can delete them to make space.

I've found a very clunky work around.

Put phone in desktop mode.

Find pic.

Copy link to notebook.

Click link.

When pic opens long press to generate URL.

C&P into thread.

Love old pics, is that you Tom?

The photobucket method is very quick. You can set it to auto upload from your phone camera to the app.

Click photo, click share, click copy link, click img link. Ready to paste into the post. Each click auotomatically takes you to the next one.

The Google photos app won't allow uploads to Photobucket Kev.

Yes it's me in the pic. It's from my 'men in hats' collection.

This is a link from one I uploaded to Dropbox.

Looks like it's back to Photobucket via my gallery.
