blonde are delighted to announce the addition of a new team member - Jennifer Mason.

Jennifer will be writing for us on a regular basis, and assisting with Live Updates at various venues. She actually makes her blonde Live Update debut today at Walsall. I do hope you will be warm and understanding to her, she's a bit nervous, but I'm sure you will all make her welcome.

Jen - as she prefers to be known - is in her early twenties, and graduated from Uni with a BA in Literae Humaniores (in WHAT?). She was a big pal of Joe Barnard who started the Oxford Poker Society, which in turn became the Oxford Cup.

She has been playing poker since she was 7, & plays all variations of our game.

After leaving Uni, she decided to put her education to good use, and had a "proper job" for all of 3 days before deciding there were better things to do with her life. So she became a part-time dealer at Gutshot, so many of you will know Jen. And apart from earning a living doing book and film reviews, and setting crosswords, she pays the bills by playing online pretty much full time.

She played in the Paris WPT last year after winning her seat online, & made the top 25%, she also played in the WPO in Tunica earlier this year. She hosts a Home Game, & has done for a year or two, & also plays in the Slough Palace jobbies.

So there you are, our new addition. Do please be as kind to her as you have been to me.

Oh - one more thing, & this may solve mystery for a few of you. She played in the Crypto blonde tourney on Thursday, & gave a great account of herself, eventually going out in the semi I believe. Her online name - this will answer a mystery for many of you who observed her play - Harry Lime!

Ariston, you've impressed me. "Hope to cross swords with her" is I assume a rather clever (by your standards) reference to her crossword setting skills. Clever stuff, Jen WILL be impressed!

Red-Dog's sense of humour? Since when?

Red Dog and Jen will meet tonight at Walsall. Brain versus brawn, beauty and the beast.

Terrrific field, really good, I thoroughly enjoyed it. How did you fare?

Jac Arama was hitting EVERYTHING, an amazing run of good fortune. Behind to a set, he had to hit perfect perfect to win a monster, & did, he had the dream match up of AA v AK - AND caught the case A..!, and he busted my JJ to knock me out after calling my all-in RR with the monster A-6.....

I think of Jac these days as very much Jekyll & Hyde - or is it Jac-al & Hyde? - but he was on his very best behaviour last night, and was a pleasure to sit next to. And hats off to any guy who can call a RR with A-6. Real Thewy stuff.

I lost two races with AK vs pairs when down to two tables and then Mr Arama finished me off calling my K high all in with J 10 and hitting both a J and a 10. Please with the way I played though.

Jac's a good player, especially when not trying to embellish his image and just concentrating on the game

He's one of those players, like Camel, JP etc who play more hands than most so it's difficult to narrow down the hand they are holding and then when they hit cards they can gather stacks v quickly.

Yup, once he got the huge early pot with the perfect perfect, I knew he would be in every pot, and he was. Putting him on a hand? Impossible. And when that type of player is hitting flops, carnage can ensue.

Hi Jen, welcome, I would just like to say two things..

First of all, wow!

Secondly, joking apart, wow again  Tongue

We are very pleased to have you, I can see you have several distinct advantages over tikay

1  You can play poker

2  You can write

3  your better looking

4  you are less than 80 yrs old

Good luck tonight,

Tom
