For some reason Google keeps inviting me to review it's privacy policy. If I click 'Later' it comes back instantly. and if I click 'Review' it just greys the page out and won't do anything.

Thought it was "showing results for xxxxxx" bit that would have annoyed you more.  Bastards. I know what I want to search for and if I mis-type I'll live with it, don't start telling me what you think I want to search for.

tools/options/privacy/ is where the cookie settings are.

in the drop down box where it says remember history change to "use custom settings"

then go accept third party cookies "never"

This has nothing to do with your problem btw, you should just do it.  (very occasionally a site won't work properly and if its a financial one you can check if it needs 3rd party cookies, otherwise fuck them)

For your problem you could try going to show cookies then remove all google ones.  And then just ignore the privacy box forever.

Also make a habit of clearing cookies from sites like google - they just want to know everything about you so they can sell it to someone.

The only times I've ever needed to allow 3rd party cookies is depositing on a couple of bookies sites, so I just tried to use a term that might encompass anything to do with money.

edit I think btinternet wants to use them as well but I just ignore it when it asks to change cookie settings.
